Alibaba.com forms partnership with Exabytes to tap into growing e-commerce market

LEADING wholesale mobile marketplace for global trade Alibaba.com has formed a business partnership with leading Cloud Service Provider in Southeast Asia Exabytes Network Sdn Bhd to further access the growing e-commerce market.

 

Exabytes Network founder and chief executive officer Chan Kee Siak said the appointment of Exabytes as Alibaba.com’s Global Gold Supplier (GGS) channel partner would enable the company to help more local small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to tap into the e-commerce market and to discover new business opportunities.

 

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who was present to officiate the ceremony, congratulated both companies for working together.

 

“The country’s digital economy is rapidly growing, and e-commerce is one of the key components.

 

“People are riding on the digital platform because it is convenient. You can buy any product that you wish from anywhere through e-commerce.

 

“Moving towards digital economy is one of our main items on the agenda as we work towards our Penang2030 vision. One of the four themes of Penang2030 is to ‘Upgrade the economy to raise household incomes,” Chow said in his speech at The Light Hotel today.

Also present were Alibaba.com Malaysia head of operation Eric Zhang, the Chief Minister’s special advisor Datuk Seri Lee Kah Choon and MATRADE (northern region) assistant director Imran Radzi.
