WITH the Hari Raya Aidilfitri just around the corner, Batu Uban assemblyman A. Kumaresan distributed festive cookies to the frontliners at two health clinics in his constituency on March 21.

A total of 125 jars of Hari Raya cookies were presented to the frontliners at the Sungai Dua and Bukit Jambul health clinics as a gesture of love for their commitment towards the fight against Covid-19.

“This is to appreciate the tireless quest of the frontliners who comprised doctors and nurses. They deserve due respect and honour for all that they had done to keep the community safe and sound.

“At the same time, I also would like to thank those who sponsored the cookies. It is so thoughtful of them. Each jar will have the name of the sponsor on it.

“We will be distributing 78 boxes of cookies over here (Batu Uban health clinic) and another 47 at Bukit Jambul health clinic,’’ said Kumaresan, who was also accompanied by JPWK chairman Lee Kah Ling during the visit.

This was a joint initiative by the Batu Uban service centre and Batu Uban JPWK.

Meanwhile, health panel chairman (Sungai Dua health clinic) Mohamed Ibrahim Mohamed Shariff commended Kumaresan for the good rapport that he (Kumaresan) has established with the clinic which was pivotal in the fight against the Covid-19.

“We would like to thank YB Kumar for helping the clinic in the best possible means, such as putting up canopies outside the clinic and delivering food to the frontliners,” Ibrahim said.

Speaking on the Hari Raya celebration, Kumaresan hoped that Muslims would follow the standard operation procedures (SOPs) while celebrating the festival.
