Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said he is delighted to see a better livelihood for the people as the country heads towards endemicity.

Chow said he is delighted to see a better livelihood for the people as the country heads towards endemicity.

“It is good to see that businesses in Penang are flourishing once again after being severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic for the past two years.

“I was also told by the traders during my walkabout today that their businesses are getting better but not as good as during the pre-pandemic period.

“It is my hope as the chief minister that the situation will get better in the year 2023. We want businesses to continue to flourish and contribute to the state’s economy,” Chow told Buletin Mutiara after distributing 2023 calendars to traders and visitors in Campbell Street today.

Also present was Padang Kota assemblyman service centre director Lau Keng Ee.

Commenting about the programme today, Chow said it is a tradition for the Padang Kota assemblyman service centre to distribute calendars during the year’s end.

“As the Padang Kota assemblyman, I have been doing this for more than 10 years.

“And while doing this, I get to listen to the views and engage with the constituents here to know more about local issues that they might have.

“Traders can breathe much better and they are relieved that their businesses have improved,” Chow added.

Earlier, Chow and his entourage also went to the Star Dimsum Restaurant in Lorong Abu Siti, MS Food Court in Jalan Macalister and the New World Park food court to distribute calendars.
