Cabinet of ministers line-up ‘not balanced’

WHILE Penang DAP agrees to a smaller Cabinet line-up, which resulted in DAP having only four ministers, the party said the political composition of the Cabinet is ‘not balanced’.

Its chairman Chow Kon Yeow said there are political parties which had won fewer seats than DAP in the 15th General Election (GE15) but are instead getting more seats in the Cabinet.

“A political party has won fewer seats than DAP in GE15 but is getting double the number of ministers compared to DAP.

“We regret that none of the seven DAP MPs in Penang was appointed as ministers, although we understand that ultimately, it is the Prime Minister’s decision to choose who should be on his Cabinet,” he replied to questions from the media when asked to comment about the unity government Cabinet line-up.

When asked further about the possibility of the political composition of deputy ministers which would be announced soon, Chow reserved his comment.

“I still have to wait for the announcement,” he said.
