EDUCATION is the foundation of a nation’s prosperity.

Penang Entrepreneurial Development, Trade and Industry Committee chairman Datuk Abdul Halim Hussain stressed the importance of education and leadership, especially for the young generation.

“The era has shifted and most jobs now require high-level thinking and leadership. And we know that education is key to a nation’s prosperity,” Abdul Halim, who is also the Batu Maung assemblyman, said at the LEADERland Southbay opening ceremony recently.

He was pleased to see future leaders being developed at LEADERland.

“Batu Maung needs more education providers like LEADERland in its transformation towards the 4Ts goal, namely technology, tourism, transport and tranquillity,” he added.

LEADERland LEADERship Preschool and Primary Daycare opened its fifth centre since it was established in 2007.

Its latest centre, LEADERland Southbay, was aimed at serving the Batu Maung community, and empowering children to become leaders of the future.

Joining Abdul Halim at the ceremony was Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim.

Lim said that being a parent and educator to a child is not an easy feat.

She believed that proper education could groom the young generation to be leaders who treat others respectfully, regardless of their race, status and gender.

Also present at the ceremony were LEADERland LEADERship Preschool and Primary Daycare founder Lim Chin Heng, co-founder Lim Cheng Ann, Southbay Plaza Management/JMB Dr Ngoo Seong Boon and Stephen Kam.
