CNY ‘science’ treat for 120 at Tech Dome Penang

A TOTAL of 120 school children and underprivileged kids were treated to a ‘science-filled’ Chinese New Year celebration at the Tech Dome Penang today.

The children from SJKC Kong Min (Cawangan 2), SJKC Tong Sian, SK Francis Light and House of Hope Air Itam were in jolly mood as they were entertained with a series of Science Show while being served with appetising meals.

Learning the Chinese Calligraphy 

State Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture and Arts Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin and Pulau Tikus assemblyman Chris Lee Chun Kit made it merrier for the kids with their presence and presentation of ‘angpow’.

Yeoh, in his speech, encouraged students from other states to come over to the Tech Dome Penang for an exciting science adventure.

“I hope that Tech Dome Penang will promote its centre so that students from all over Malaysia will come here and have an wholesome science experience,” he said.

Lee, who is also the director of Penang Tech Centre Berhad, promoted the roles of a science centre as a platform to raise issues concerning the community through a science and technology perspective.
