THE community spirit can be seen during a festive occasion where people from all races come together and celebrate it in unity.
That was evidently shown by the residents of Taman Sri Nibong and its neighbourhood during the Chinese New Year celebration on Feb 17 organised by Hidayah Centre.
At the open house, many government and private agencies, such as the state Agriculture Department, Departnent of Environment, Lam Wah Ee Hospital, Dental Training College Penang, Malaysia Chemistry Department and many others, took part.
Lam Wah Ee Hospital held a free medical camp offering glucose level and blood pressure checkups. It also gave away vouchers worth RM90 each for mammogram checkup. ( for those who have completed the health checkup)
The state Agriculture Department distributed free saplings of chili plants to encourage the public to grow their own vegetables and also shared tips on natural farming.
Apart from that, there were various activities for children such as the ‘Deco on Doughnut’ which encouraged them to tap on their creativity.
