Coming together to keep Penang safe

THE Penang government and the Crime Consciousness & Public Safety Society (CCPSS) Penang are committed to keeping the state safe.

 

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow stressed that the state must not be a haven for criminal activities.

 

“The rule of law must be upheld at all times to ensure a safe environment for the people.

“To be safe, our people must be well-informed on what is happening every day around us. This is important for people to not easily fall prey to any scams.

 

“CCPSS Penang has been actively working with various stakeholders to prevent crime,” he said in his speech during the media appreciation and fundraising night for the CCPSS Penang at The Ascott Gurney Hotel.

 

Chow conveyed his utmost gratitude to the media practitioners for playing a pivotal role in informing the public on crime consciousness and public safety.

 

“The dissemination of news and public service announcements are important to ensure public safety,” he said.

 

Since the establishment of CCPSS Penang for the past 18 months, Chow pointed out that numerous programmes had been held for the benefit of the communities.

 

He also thanked all the noble donors who contributed to the noble cause championed by CCPSS Penang.

CCPSS Penang chairman Datuk Mohamad Anil Shah was thankful to the state for being supportive of them.

 

“It is important to strengthen our good relationship to keep the state safe,” he said.

 

Mohamad Anil also paid tribute to the media for their unwavering commitment to society.

 

At the end of the event, Mohamad Anil presented appreciation certificates to representatives from various media in the state in the presence of Chow.

 

Also present were CCPSS Media Appreciation and Fundraising Night organising chairman Seah Kok Heng and other distinguished guests.
