Improved information centre for SJK (C) Li Tek Cawangan

PRIMARY school pupils of SJK (C) Li Tek Cawangan can now have a conducive learning environment thanks to the newly upgraded information centre here.

 

The centre, which is also a mini-library for the pupils, has been enhanced after being established some 30 years ago.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who was present to launch the centre, was delighted to witness the transformation.

 

“After so many years, the centre’s facilities needed an improvement to keep pace with the current teaching and learning environment.

 

“This will not only improve the learning environment but the teachers and pupils can obtain their teaching and learning materials conveniently,” he said in his speech when attending the event in SJK (C) Li Tek Cawangan in the Macallum Street Ghaut today.

SJK (C) Li Tek A and SJK (C) Li Tek B are also situated nearby.

 

Chow said the school had applied to the state about upgrading the centre, back in 2019.

 

“The state had approved the project for such an initiative can benefit the pupils,” he said, adding that the centre’s opening, which was scheduled two years ago, has been postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

Chow expressed his hopes that the school could play a pivotal role in promoting Chinese education.

 

Phuah Choon Meng, who is the chairman of the school’s Board of Directors, thanked the state for the assistance to upgrade the centre.

 

Among those present were Chow’s political-secretary Teh Lai Heng, who is also Komtar assemblyman, Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi, Lau Keng Ee, who is Chow’s special affairs officer in Padang Kota and Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) chairman Tan Pei Huang.
