GOOD news for vaccinated travellers as Penang is set to implement the Malaysia-Singapore Vaccinated Travel Lane by air (VTL-Air) by middle of this month.

Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said all preparations were progressing smoothly.

“The authorities have agreed in principle for the implementation, and greenlight has been given.

“The Penang International Airport has also put in place the necessary preparations for the launching of the VTL-Air,” he told reporters after attending the launching of Pepsi Escape Challenge at the World’s Longest Water Slide in Escape Theme Park, Teluk Bahang, today.

Sim Leisure Group (SLG) has teamed up with Etika Sdn Bhd to organise the Pepsi Escape Challenge.

Pepsi dares visitors to take on the challenge in a bid to vie for the fastest time riding the world’s longest water slide measuring 1.11km.

SLG founder and chief executive Sim Choo Kheng was happy to collaborate with Etika Sdn Bhd.

“I am confident that this partnership will bring Escape to greater heights,” he said.

Sim also said that the company planned to expand Escape to other places, such as in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.

“We plan to expand Escape to other tourism places in the country,” he said, adding that the company was planning to have the World’s Longest ZipCoaster.

Yeoh congratulated SLG and Etika Sdn Bhd for their entrepreneurial and innovative spirit.

“This collaboration will present a fresh element to Escape, while adding a new dimension to its unique activities,” he said.

Also present was Etika Sdn Bhd senior vice-president Cedric Koh Ei Leon.
