What was even worth the money was that they had the chance to witness the stunning night views across island and mainland.

During the almost three-hours of dining on top of a privately-chartered vessel, a live band performed to entertain the diners and distinguished guests.

The most breathtaking view which attracted many was when the vessel sailed near the Penang Bridge.

It stopped for about 10 minutes to allow those on board to use their smartphones to take photos of the scenic bridge and surroundings before making its turn back to the ferry terminal on island.

Penang Global Tourism (PGT) chief executive officer Ooi Chok Yan said many came forward to join in the ferry feasting as it was held only once a year. Each ticket was priced at RM100.

“It’s a way to promote the tourism too especially among non-Penangites,” Ooi told Buletin Mutiara.
