Firms and sister city lend a helping hand

XIAMEN, China, which is the sister city to Penang Island City Council (MBPP), together with two manufacturing companies have stepped in to assist frontliners in the fight against Covid-19.

 

The consul-general of the People’s Republic of China in Penang Lu Shiwei represented Xiamen to hand over 10,000 units of N95 face masks to the Penang Hospital at Komtar today. State Health Department chief assistant director (Pharmacy) Rohaizan Mohd Hanafiah received the face masks on behalf of the Penang Hospital.

 

Meanwhile, HP Malaysia Manufacturing Sdn Bhd contributed 28,000 units of N95 face masks, 100,000 units of face masks, 25,000 latex gloves, 35,000 nitrile gloves, 400 bottles of hand sanitiser, 100 units of 3D printing mask adjuster and 100 units of 3D printing door opener. The items were given to the Penang government, MBPP, Seberang Perai City Council and Penang Hospital.

HP Malaysia Manufacturing Sdn Bhd was represented by its director Thomas Dukes, corporate social responsibility department head Calvin Chew Soong Kiat, procurement manager Peter Heng Aik Toon, procurement analyst Daniel Loh Chin Han and strategic planning chief Loo Sian Siong.

 

Ledstream Technology Sdn Bhd business manager Herry Teh and board member Teh Chee Keong represented Ledstream Technology to give away 5,000 face masks, 1,092 hand sanitisers, 80 sets of medical protective suit and 800 packets of herbal tea to the Penang government.
