THE Seri Delima state constituency held its first-ever blood donation campaign at the Island Glades basketball court.

Its assemblyman Syerleena Abdul Rashid said the event, held yesterday (May 28), attracted 61 donors from all walks of life from Island Glades.

The programme, she said, was a collaboration between her office, the Island Glades Village Community Management Council (MPKK), St John Ambulance, the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) George Town and the Penang Hospital blood bank.

“We would like to thank Fit-Jumping Penang, a fitness centre here for sponsoring energy drinks for the donors.

“The turnout was positive as it exceeded our target. A huge shoutout to all those involved in making this event a success.

“There will be a similar blood donation drive at the Island Park MPKK hall on June 5.

“To those who have missed today’s event, please do join us on June 5.

“Remember, a pint of blood can save three lives. Make a difference today people,” Syerleena said in her speech.

It was also learnt that the Seri Delima state constituency had previously held blood donation campaigns at Lotus’s E-Gate Penang and the Japanese Garden in Jelutong.
