Gift of prosthetic legs for the needy

CHE Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society Penang will organise a free fixing of artificial leg program in 2019.

This program is supported by Technical and Advisory Unit from The Prostheses Foundation of H.R.H. The Princess Mother of Thailand.

“In the 2019 program, Che Hon Khor Moral Uplifting Society, (CHKMUS) Penang has committed to arrange free artificial legs to 200 recipients,” Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy told a press conference today at Komtar.

Also present were committee member of Che Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society S. Ragindran and welfare officer from Dr Ramasamy’s office, K. Elemperu Valuthi.

Date for application for the artificial legs opens from December 1, 2018 to January 15, 2019 and application forms can be obtained from CHKMUS at 360, Jalan Macalister, Penang. (Tel: 04-226 7248/ Fax: 04-226 4643).

Dr Ramasamy said the fixing of artificial legs program will commence from May 12 to 18, 2019.

“CHKMUS, Penang has launched this program for three times in 2007, 2010 and 2016. The objective of today’s press conference is to inform the Indian community especially those from the low income group,” he added.
