A FREE motorcycle checking and maintenance campaign for the B40 community will be held at Komtar Walk on Aug 20.
The one-day programme is jointly organised by the Padang Kota, Komtar and Pengkalan Kota constituency service centres and sponsored by Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd.
Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng said the free service session would be from 9am to 5pm.
“During the campaign, participants will receive full checks for their motorcycles involving components like motorcycle oil, tyres, batteries, spark plugs, chains and brakes.
“The free service, however, is only to those owning Honda motorcycle models EX5, C90, C70, Wave Alpha and Wave 100.
“All the listed models are affordable ones and usually used by lower-income families.
“And we hope with such initiative, we can at least reduce the burdens faced by the B40 group during these trying times,” Teh told a press conference at his service centre in Jalan Talipon today.
Also present was Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen.
According to Teh, those interested need to register with the participating constituency service centres, namely Padang Kota, Komtar and Pengkalan Kota.
“Registration can be made starting from today until Aug 17. The slots are limited. Priority will be given to those from the B40 group and those who receive assistance from the state Welfare Department.
“Successful participants will be contacted through WhatsApp or phone call and will be given a time slot to prevent overcrowding and reduce the waiting time as one service session will be around 20 minutes.
“For further inquiries, they can call Padang Kota service centre (04-2260218), Komtar service centre (04-2277068) and Pengkalan Kota service centre at 04-2501522,” he added.
