Fun treat for 70 underprivileged children

MORE than 70 orphans from Da Zhi Jiang Tang Welfare Association and Shan Children Home were treated to a theme park visit at The TOP Penang in Komtar.

Penang Tourism Development, Heritage, Culture and Arts Committee chairman Yeoh Soon Hin praised the Lions Club International Community and The TOP Penang for jointly organising the event with his office for the less fortunate on March 23.

Yeoh also congratulated the Lions Club International Community and the Hong Kong Centennial Passion Lions Club for the cross-nation charity project.

“This is a great opportunity for the underprivileged children to enjoy themselves and have fun,” Yeoh said.

Organising chairman Johnson Leung Chung Sing said serving the community without border was part of the corporate social responsibility by the joint partners.

The children having fun learning new things. With them are Yeoh (blue collar shirt) and other Lions’ officials.

“”The objective of this project is to bring corporate social responsibility to another level and help the less fortunate by providing warmth, care and love,” he said.

The TOP Penang, an iconic landmark of the Pearl of the Orient, offers more than 15 attractions.

It was recently recognised by the Education Ministry as a strategic partner during the ‘National Teacher’s Day’ celebration graced by Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik at Top Banquet @The TOP Penang.

Also present were Penang Metropolitan Lions Club president Elizabeth Toh, Hong Kong Centennial Passion Lions Club president Lam Kit Sing, District Governor 308-B2 Datuk Neo Say Yeow, and Only World Group Holdings Bhd founder and chief executive officer Tan Sri Richard Koh.
