Fun walk draws huge crowd

THOUSANDS of participants from all walks of life thronged the Esplanade this evening to take part in the 5km Family Fun Walk.

 

The walk was held as part of the Olympic Carnival Penang 2019 celebration.

 

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow flagged off the walk at Light Street at 5.30pm.

Besides promoting a healthy lifestyle, the walk also helped to foster closer relationship among family members and friends.
Marketing director Wong Bee Kee, 51, was delighted to join the walk with her family and friends.
“The event is unique and family-oriented. We really enjoyed it.

“The routes were well-planned and managed. I have taken part in many walks before, and this was really fun,” she said, adding that the organiser of the event also prioritised the safety of the participants.
Wong hoped that the state would continue to organise more of such event in the future. She also thanked state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee for the remarkable event.
