YOUTHS and children can now register for the Mid-Autumn Festival 2023 in Batu Lancang and stand a chance to win attractive prizes!
Batu Lancang assemblyman Ong Ah Teong said the exciting programmes have been lined up to promote the Mid-Autumn festival and to foster close relationships among the residents of Batu Lancang.
The festival is jointly organised by the Taman Hutchings Village Community Management Council (MPKK), Batu Lancang Women and Family Development Committee (JPWK), Batu Lancang Penang Youth Committee (JBPP), and the Lian Hua Keong Temple.
“Participants will be able to take part in a 2.53km fun walk while carrying their colourful lanterns.
“The walk will start at 7pm from the Batu Lancang food complex, and we will be passing by Lebuhraya Batu Lancang, Jalan Service (off Jalan Masjid Negeri), Lebuh Gelugor, Taman Gelugor, Lorong Gelugor, Lintang Gelugor, Lebuhraya Gelugor, Lorong Jelutong, Lintang Jelutong, and Lebuhraya Jelutong, before heading back to the Batu Lancang food complex.
“We are accepting entries from now until Sept 13 on a first come, first served basis. The programme is open to youths and children aged 15 and below,” he told a media conference today.
He said the free programme, which will be held on Sept 16, is limited to only 1,000 participants.
“The response has been very encouraging. We have received 600 entries so far,” Ong said.
He added that each participant would receive a free lantern and light refreshments. The participant also stands a chance at the lucky draw. Among the attractive prizes is a bicycle.
Registration forms can be collected at the Batu Lancang service centre at No. 9, Taman Hijau 3, Batu Lancang, Penang.
