HUNDREDS of participants took part in the Glow Walk 2019 held at the Youth Park in Waterfall Road on May 4.
The 5-km Fun Walk, which started at Youth Park to Botanical Garden (upper route) and back, commenced at 8pm, was flagged off by state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee.
It was preceded by a ‘Face Painting’, ‘Magic of Science’ show and a ‘Limbering up with Zumba’ session from 6pm.
Since the event emphasised on the ‘Glow’ theme, competitors were issued with striking illuminous round-neck T-shirt and a glow-band each.
They were also encouraged to paint their faces and add on any ‘glow-in-the dark’ items to enhance their look in line with the theme.
Also present were Tech Dome Penang chief executive officer Dr Khong Yoon Loong and Kebun Bungah assemblyman Jason Ong Khan Lee.
The event was endorsed by Soon’s office, Penang State Sports Council and Penang Education Department and supported by Penang Island City Council, Penang Youth Development Council, Penang Amateur Athletic Association, Royal Malaysian Police, St John’s Ambulance and Active Style Concept.
