SWEET smiles and joyful laughter lit up the faces of 15 children from B40 families as they enjoyed a special shopping programme in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year (CNY) at Sunshine Central in Air Itam, yesterday (Feb 6).

The heartwarming initiative was organised by the Jelutong Parliamentary Constituency Service Centre to bring festive cheer to underprivileged children and ensure they could celebrate the season with happiness and dignity.

Jelutong MP RSN Rayer said the programme was specially designed to create meaningful experiences for children from B40 households.

“Our goal is to let them feel the joy of Chinese New Year. That’s why we brought them to SPACE by Sunshine so they could personally choose new festive outfits to wear during the celebrations,” he told Buletin Mutiara.

The event concluded on a joyful note with each child receiving ang pow (red packets), followed by a special treat to a delicious meal at a restaurant.

Also present at the programme was Batu Lancang assemblyman Ong Ah Teong.
