CHIEF Minister Chow Kon Yeow paid his last respects to Datuk Seri Choot Ching Khoon, the founder of the famous Salute Kopi O brand at his residence today.

Ching Khoon, who is highly respected for his charitable work and success in business, passed away peacefully on March 27 at the ripe age of 100.

He leaves behind his wife Datin Seri Goh Cheow Hong, five sons, a daughter, a god daughter, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

His eldest son, Datuk Seri Choot Ewe Seng is the Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce (PCCC) executive adviser.

Representatives from various clan associations and organisations, as well as the who’s who in Penang also turned up at the wake service to pay their tribute to Ching Khoon.

Ching Khoon will be laid to rest at Nirvana Memorial Park, Semenyih, Selangor. The cortege will be leaving Penang at 6am.

Earlier, on March 30, Chow and the other state representatives attended the wake service held in Lorong Pantai Molek, Tanjung Tokong.
