RATEPAYERS in Seberang Perai have the opportunity to win five cash prizes totalling RM22,888 when they pay their first assessment tax for 2024 and arrears via online, appointed collection agencies or kiosks.
Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) mayor Datuk Azhar Arshad said all premises’ owners on the mainland would be entitled to the lucky draw for payment settled from Dec 1, 2023, to Feb 29, 2024.
“The five cash prizes are RM8,888 (first place), RM5,000 (second place), RM4,000 (third place), RM3,000 (fourth place) and RM2,000 (fifth place).
“To be eligible for the lucky draw event, they have to settle the assessment tax for 2024 along with the arrears if there are any.
“The payment has to be made from Dec 1, 2023, to Feb 29, 2024, via online, appointed collection agencies or kiosks or through the ASPIRE Seberang Perai app.
“Those who pay their assessment at the physical counter are automatically excluded from the draw.
“Thus, I would like to urge all premises’ owners to make payments and settle their arrears within the stipulated time to stand a chance of winning the lucky draw prizes,” Azhar told reporters after the full council meeting at the MBSP headquarters building in Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam today.
Azhar said MBSP would likely announce the lucky draw winners in March next year.

On a separate matter, Azhar announced the extension of the Luna Lights Wonderland 2023 event at Vision Park in Kepala Batas until Jan 1, 2024, due to an overwhelming response from the public.
Jointly organised by MBSP and Red Bear Event, the event has been open to visitors since Oct 27 from 7pm until midnight.
Azahar expressed the hope that the extended duration would attract more visitors from the island and also neighbouring states to experience the Luna Lights Wonderland 2023.
