THE Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) is now offering discounts of up to 50 percent on all compoundable summonses. The discounts are being offered from Sept 16 until the end of this year.
MBSP mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud said the initiative was taken to mark the local council’s second City Day anniversary.
“During this period, all parking compounds would be set at RM10. Normally, it is RM30 per summons (for parking offences).
“And there would be a 50 percent discount for other compounds.
“They have about another two months to grab this chance and pay their compounds.
“They can pay their parking compounds online through the e-wallet platform such as Boost, through the MBSP cyber counters or directly at the council’s physical counters.
“Thus, I hope motorists will take this opportunity to pay their fines during this promotion period,” Rozali told reporters via online after the full council meeting at the MBSP headquarters building in Bandar Perda, Bukit Mertajam today.
Rozali clarified that the discounts, however, does not apply to offences involving cases that have been registered in court.
“The city council will take stricter action against offenders who refused to pay their compounds after the Dec 31 deadline, he added.
