THE Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) has recorded a steady increase of cashless transactions provided through its cyber counters this year.

MBSP mayor Datuk Rozali Mohamud said the percentage rate of cashless transactions for the city council until Oct 31, 2020 has increased to 60% compared to only 39% for the whole year of 2019.

“This is a good indicator that the people have started to adapt to the use of digital services in their daily life, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Thus, I hope the use of digital services will continue to increase among the people in Seberang Perai,” Rozali said in a press conference that was broadcast live on MBSP Facebook page today.

MBSP Cyber Counter

According to Rozali, MBSP has already prepared 100 types of services for its cyber counters to encourage the Seberang Perai residents to do the necessary transactions with the city council via online. The aim, he said, is to minimise human movement to control the spread of the virus.

“Among the services offered through its cyber counters are online payments involving various types of MBSP services, the payment of utility bills from other agencies, various online applications and others.

“The public can access the cyber counters through MBSP website at https://www.mbsp.gov.my/

“All types of services that are offered through the usual service counters can also be done via online,” he added.
