National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme Phase Two: Attendance rates good but can be better, says CM Chow.

THE attendance rates for the second phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme in Penang are good, said Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.

“Penang recorded 83.4% attendance rate on April 19 (the first day of the programme), 89% on April 20 and 88% on April 21.

“The rates are considered good, but they can be better.

“There were several reasons why those who were given the appointment date did not turn up to receive the Covid-19 vaccine.

“The reasons were because of unfit health conditions, change of mind, vaccination centre located in a different district or state and the recipients were unreachable,” he said today.

Chow said that those who missed the appointment would have to wait for a new appointment date to be given via the MySejahtera app.

“The applicant does not need to reapply to get a new appointment date if he or she missed the earlier appointment,” he said.

Chow added that there was so far no elderly in Penang who turned up at the vaccination centre only to be told that the vaccine supply was insufficient.
