SMOKE free zones in the city and at parks should also be vape-free, according to Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

“We need to discuss with the exco members whether Penang will ban vaping. However, the decree from the Sultan of Johor will have an impact. We have not made a decision and will need to discuss in the exco meeting. We want to hear from all the parties concerned,” Lim told members of the media when asked for his comments on Nov 30 following the Johor Sultan’s decree to ban vaping in the state.

“However, in my opinion, the areas that are declared smoke-free should also be vape-free. We will need to amend the bylaws and will definitely look into this matter,” he added.
