THERE is currently no such plan in place to declare Aug 12 as a state holiday for the state election, caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said.

Responding to a question by a journalist after witnessing the Manufacturing Supply Agreement (MSA) signing ceremony between YBS International Berhad and Enovix Corporation at E&O Hotel today, Chow said there was no such plan at the moment.

“Most people are off on Saturday. We have not discussed this at this stage,” he replied.

The polling day for the state elections in Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu, and Kelantan is on Aug 12.

Early voting will be on Aug 8.
