THE Covid-19 vaccination centre (PPV) at Jabil Circuit Sdn Bhd has successfully vaccinated more than 15,000 factory workers since it started operating on July 19.

The PPV is under the Public-Private Partnership Industrial Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (Pikas) that cater for economic frontliners.

Jabil managing director Tan Siew Jin said the 15,342 employees were from Jabil and partnering companies.

“The Jabil PPV has successfully administered more than 30,000 vaccine doses over the past five weeks.

“This success will not be possible without the strong support from the Penang government, Health Ministry (MoH), Ministry of International Trade and Industries (Miti), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Mosti) and others.

“A special shout-out also goes to our 500 Jabil volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure that the programme went smoothly at the PPV.

“We are happy to play our part in helping the state achieve herd immunity,” Tan said during the closing ceremony of Jabil PPV today.

Also present was state Agrotech and Food Security, Rural Development and Health Committee chairman Dr Norlela Ariffin.

Tan said that although today marks the last operation day of the PPV at Jabil, the company is now working closely with the Penang government to inoculate the family members and dependents of Jabil employees who have yet to be vaccinated.

“We will be making an official announcement on this matter in the next few weeks,” he added.

Dr Norlela thanked Jabil for its willingness to have an onsite PPV to cater for the economic frontliners in the state.
