THE Penang government has been constantly prioritising the importance of talent development, especially among youths in the state.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow (PH-Padang Kota) said that the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC), for instance, has produced the talents needed for the technology sector all this while.

“At the same time, we need to gather our resources to develop the needs of the technology sector through Penang Science Cluster (PSC) and Tech Dome Penang which initiate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and economic digitalisation.

“Aside from this, the LovePENANG campaign has also been launched by the state to ensure community involvement and most importantly social development. We aim to overcome the challenges faced by the people in the post-Covid-19 pandemic,” Chow told the State Legislative Assembly today.

He was replying to an oral question posed by Goh Choon Aik (PH-Bukit Tambun) who asked about the initiatives that were implemented to achieve the state’s 2030 vision.

Goh also asked about the LovePENANG campaign and its benefits to the people.

Chow emphasised the importance of the LovePENANG campaign, especially during post-Covid-19.

“We want to spread the love message to Penangites across the state,” he said.

Besides that, Chow pointed out that numerous activities have been organised with the government-linked companies (GLCs) in the state.

On top of that, Penang2030 centres have also been established in each state constituency.

“These centres are important to empower the people through digital learning and other aspects,” he said.
