Penang govt gives out face masks to media practitioners

THE Penang government has distributed 250 boxes of face mask to 25 media companies to protect media professionals against Covid-19 in the state.

 

Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng, who is also the political secretary of Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, said that it was the state’s initiative to protect the frontliners.

 

It was reported that the Penang government had managed to order six million units of face mask after successful sourcing and negotiation with the suppliers.

“The media professionals are our frontliners and it is still not easy to find face masks,” Teh said before distributing the boxes of face mask at Komtar today.

 

Among the media companies that were present were The Star, Guang Ming Daily, Kwong Wah Yit Poh, Malay Mail and Pocket News.
