THE Penang government is on the alert and will take heed the advice of the Health Ministry in dealing with the coronavirus (CoV) outbreak.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the state government would take the necessary action according to the recommendation provided by the Health Ministry.
“The Health Ministry is a competent authority which can address the matter.
“With regard to restricting tourists from China or any other particular country, it would be for the Federal Government to decide,” Chow told a press conference today.
Chow advised the people to be more alert and be mindful of their personal hygiene in view of several confirmed cases of CoV in Malaysia.
“Please consult the doctor immediately if there are symtoms of fever, cough and breathing difficulties,” he said.
Chow also urged the public to seek information from reliable sources to avoid a panic situation.
