THE state government treats the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) with utmost importance when it comes to assessing development projects in Penang.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the EIA is crucial to assess the impact of a development project on the environment.
He was having a discussion with Penang Department of Environment (DoE) director Marzuki Mokhatar and its chief assistant director Mohd Fitri Mohd Mokhtar during their courtesy visit today.
Among the topics discussed were industrial waste management, landfill, and illegal dumping.
