PENANG Pakatan Harapan (PH) will continue to abide by the electoral arrangement agreed with Barisan Nasional (BN) in the previous general election, while remaining focused on carrying out its responsibilities and getting the job done, said Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
Chow said the matter was not questioned during a closed-door DAP engagement session held last night, led by DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke Siew Fook and attended by hundreds of delegates.
“The decision was not questioned yesterday. Nobody raised any objections,” he told reporters during an industry event at Eastin Hotel here today.
Asked about remarks by a senior party leader questioning Penang PH’s position following recent political developments, Chow said the existing decision remained unchanged.
“We will stick to that decision,” he said.
Chow added that while individual views could be raised, the state PH leadership would continue to abide by the existing electoral arrangement and focus on carrying out its responsibilities.
“He can raise it,” Chow said when asked about the remarks.
On whether the issue had been discussed during the closed-door session, Chow said he was not certain whether one or two individuals had raised it, but maintained that it was not a point of contention during the meeting.
