PENANG is set to host the country’s leading exhibition for automation and manufacturing technology, AUTOMEX 2025, marking its highly anticipated debut in the northern region this year.
The prestigious three-day event will take place from Nov 4 to 6 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre in Bayan Lepas, positioning Penang at the forefront of industrial innovation.
A landmark highlight of this year’s exhibition is its strategic partnership with the Malaysia Semiconductor Industry Association (MSIA).
As part of this collaboration, AUTOMEX Penang will co-host the Silicon Malaysia Forum (formerly known as the National E&E Forum), bringing together global leaders, innovators, and decision-makers in the semiconductor sector.
This partnership aims to strengthen industry integration and foster deeper technological collaboration across the value chain.
AUTOMEX Penang deputy event director Geonice Chong said the inaugural event is expected to feature over 300 exhibitors and attract more than 5,000 trade visitors, offering a dynamic platform for forging partnerships, accelerating technology adoption, and driving economic growth.
“AUTOMEX Penang will showcase breakthrough technologies in automation, next-generation robotics, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, precision CNC machinery, and sustainable manufacturing.
“The exhibition is designed to empower manufacturers, engineers, and entrepreneurs to discover transformative solutions, forge supplier relationships, and establish cross-border partnerships that will define the future of manufacturing,” she told a press conference in Komtar today.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo, MSIA executive director Andrew Chan and Malaysia Automation Technology Association (MATA) president Johnson Tan.
Meanwhile, Jagdeep described AUTOMEX Penang as a catalyst for the next phase of industrial transformation in the northern region.
“By connecting local innovation with global opportunities, the event will position Malaysian manufacturing firmly at the cutting edge of technological advancement.
“This is not just another exhibition on our calendar. It is a platform that reflects confidence in Penang’s industrial ecosystem and, more importantly, it represents where we are heading as a state which is towards innovation, resilience, and future readiness,” he said.
He added that the timing of AUTOMEX Penang is crucial for the state’s manufacturing sector.
“This event will bring world-class automation, robotics, and AI-driven solutions right here to our doorstep.
“It will give our small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and larger manufacturers the opportunity to explore, collaborate, and fast-track their journey towards higher productivity and stronger global competitiveness,” he concluded.
