PSFF 2018 to satisfy food lovers on Sept 1 and 2

 

DUE to popular demand, the Penang Street Food Festival 2018  will again occupy Lebuh Pantai on Sept 1 & 2.

Some 200,000 strong crowd is expected to visit the festival, which boasts a total of 120 stalls.

Over the two days, Penang’s exceptional street food heroes will create the city’s finest culinary offerings such as Assam Laksa, Char Koay Teow, Roti Canai as well as local modern favourites such as Ice Kacang with Durian Ice-Cream and Coconut Milkshades.

“The display of gastronomical excellence at PSFF2018 evidently shows that Penang is truly a food paradise of Asia.

“PSFF2018 strongly demonstrated why Penang has been the receipent of countless culinary awards from internationally acclaimed publications such as CNN Travel (World’s 50 Best Foods) and Culture Trip (15 Best Cities in The World For Food),” exco for Tourism Development, Heritage and Culture, Yeoh Soon Hin said at a press conference to announce the function today.

He added what better way to celebrate the Merdeka (National Day) where street food aficionados will experience Penang Cun in all its glory and witness why food is an integral part of Penang life.

“In the words of Penang friend Anthony Bourdain, ‘Food is everything we are’,” he added.

Additional PSFF2018 highlights include a lush pop-up garden on the street to reflect Penang’s strong stance on being a green state; breathtaking live performances, street food demonstrations, and a spectacular fireworks display to cap off what will be a memorable PSFF2018.

The Penang Street Food Festival will be held on Sept 1&2 from 5pm -11pm at Lebuh Pantai.
