PULAU Tikus assemblyman Chris Lee keeps his tradition of sponsoring back-to-school vouchers to the underprivileged children at the Penang Shan Children’s Home.

Today, as he visted them again at their premises in Jalan Mount Erskine, Pulau Tikus the children were excited. They were even happier when Lee  presented them with RM100 voucher each.

A total of 18 school children (primary and secondary) received the vouchers which will entitle them for the redemption of school uniforms, school bags, school shoes and socks.

“We do this on annual basis, I think it is our responsibility to bring cheer to the kids over here. This is just a small part of our contribution to them.

“They deserve equal opportunity to be successful in life. We must give them a normal upbringing and allow them to grow up just like every other kid.

“Today, I have also with me the team from TARC College who will be donating some grocery items, stationery as well as other items to the home,’’ said Lee during his visit to the home in the morning.

The home administrator Andrew Bhawers thanked Lee for his kind gesture.

“We have a total of 24 kids as occupants in this home, out of them 18 are school going and they are very happy upon receiving the vouchers.

“On behalf of the Penang Shan Children’s Home, I would like to thank YB Chris for his kind contribution and also to the TARC College students for being thoughtful of the children’s needs,” said Bhawers.
