Revving up spirit of Merdeka

A GROUP of bikers from the Tribals Rider Motor Club kickstarted the Merdeka season with an energetic and patriotic-filled ride around the Batu Uban area.

Batu Uban assemblyman A. Kumaresan commended the initiative taken by the riders to come forward and participate in this very meaningful event, which is in conjunction with the 63rd Merdeka Day celebration this year.

“This year, we have been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, which means there won’t be any mass gathering or the usual annual celebration.

“Despite the current situation, it is important that we stay patriotic and united especially during these trying times. We need to stay healthy and safe for the good of everyone.

“This ride around my constituency will see residents receiving the Malaysia flag from the riders as they tour around the Batu Uban area,” said Kumaresan during his speech at Kompleks Bukit Jambul today.

The event was called ‘Batu Uban Merdeka Ride 2020 With YB Kumaresan’.

A total of 500 flags were distributed to residents in the Batu Uban area.

Kumaresan says that unity is key to surviving Covid-19 pandemic

It was organised by Profil Unggul Sdn Bhd, with the help of the Taman Brown Village Management Council (MPKK) and Tribals Rider Motor Club.

The riders gathered at the Batu Uban service centre in Taman Pekaka, which was the starting point and stopped at Kompleks Bukit Jambul before heading to the final stop at Raffle Park in Jalan Permai.

Kumaresan also thanked Kompleks Bukit Jambul for showing great support over the years and often offering space to conduct events.
