A TOTAL of 616 students from 158 schools across 11 states, including Kuala Lumpur, took part in Robomania 2025, marking the highest participation in the event’s seven-year history. This milestone reflects the competition’s growing influence in education and its role in promoting STEM nationwide.
What began with line-following, obstacle avoidance, and innovation challenges has since expanded to include the Football Cup (robot football) and Trial League, evolving into a nationwide platform that inspires students to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

In a statement, Tech Dome Penang, the organiser, said that since the introduction of the “robot football” concept last year, Robomania has successfully combined Malaysia’s most popular sport with robotics—bringing new levels of excitement, teamwork, and strategy to the competition.
With this innovation, Robomania has grown from a local event into a national-level competition, attracting wider participation. Furthermore, with the launch of the “MySains” initiative by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI), Robomania was recognised last year as one of the nation’s key STEM events.

After a series of preliminary and state-level rounds, the Robomania 2025 National Grand Finale concluded successfully, with schools from across Malaysia showcasing creativity and excellence in robot football.
