INDIAN Association Penang will celebrate Mother’s Day with a Saree Walkathon at the Youth Park tomorrow at 8am.
IA vice-president Datin G. Puvaneswary said the inaugural event, organised in collaboration with Nutri Heart Global Solutions, will host 350 participants.
“We’re celebrating Mother’s Day by embracing the saree while honouring motherhood, heritage and health. Children above 12 will walk alongside their mothers. Participants include young mothers as well as grandmothers, with the oldest likely 75 years old,” Puvneswary said.
She added that saree draping assistance will be available on site. Participants will also receive a finisher medal, and there will be a lucky draw.
