Selangor exco man commends Penang government for flood aid

SELANGOR executive councillor V. Ganabatirau thanked the Penang government for lending a hand during the massive floods in November last year.

 

The Kota Kemuning assemblyman, who heads the Selangor Socio-Economic Development Community Welfare and Worker Empowerment Committee, conveyed his appreciation to Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow during a courtesy visit to the latter’s office in Komtar today.

 

“I would like to say special thanks to CM Chow for the assistance rendered by the Penang government. They sent boats and volunteers.

 

“I also remember my constituency received four lorryloads of groceries,” Ganabatirau said.

Also present were Penang Deputy Chief Minister ll Prof Dr P. Ramasamy, Bagan Dalam assemblyman Satees Muniandy, Ganabatirau’s team members Surender Raj, Dinesh Selvarajoo and Kamalanathan Chellapan.

 

Ganabatirau and his delegation were in Penang yesterday to share ideas on their l- Seed programme with representatives of the Penang government.

 

The l-Seed programme is one of Selangor’s efforts to improve the economic status of targeted groups.

 

Chow thanked Ganabatirau and his delegation for their visit.

 

He added that most of the items sent to the flood victims were contributed by the corporate sector.
