Singing competition draws crowd

THE 26th Tanjong Cup Singing Competition attracted over 100 avid singers as they vie for the honour of being one of the best singers in the competition.

 

The singing competition, hosted by Eng Chuan School Union, was touted to be one of the most prestigious singing competitions held annually.

 

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said Penangites are blessed to have a comfortable and fulfilling life.

“The state government strives to cultivate a conducive environment for the people to live, work and play.

 

“Penang has been rated as one of the most liveable states in Malaysia,” he said in his speech at Dewan Sri Pinang this evening.

 

Commenting on the competition, Chow said Penang also enjoyed the presence of many musical talents.

 

“These talents are driven by their passion for music, and they gave their all each time they perform.

 

“In realising the Penang2030 vision of ‘A Family-Focused Green and Smart State that Inspires the Nation’, the Penang government looks forward to working with the rakyat to create a happy and harmonious state,” he said.
