State govt committed to supporting SMEs in Penang

THE Penang government remains unwavering in its commitment to supporting all small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the state.

 

Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo, who is in charge of the Human Capital Development, Science and Technology portfolio, said this support extends to all players in the industry.

“This is important to bring Penang to greater heights. As we know, Penang is a global industrial hub and we will continue to be such.

 

“Our focus now is on SMEs. On behalf of the state government, I would like to reiterate that the state government would never neglect the SME industry.

“As a matter of fact, we will do everything we can to support the SME industry in the state,” Jagdeep told a press conference during his visit to GSH Precision Technology Sdn Bhd in Bayan Lepas today.

 

Also present were GSH Precision Technology chairman and managing director Fong Hock Guan and GSH Precision Technology director (corporate & business department) J. Philip Vincent.

 

Jagdeep also welcomed the latest announcement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim regarding the Federal Government’s consideration of giving more incentives to the SME industry.
