THE Penang government will be in contact with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) pertaining to the investigation report on the Bukit Kukus landslide tragedy.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said the State Secretary would be contacting the department soon.

“We hope to get some updates on the investigation. When will the stop work order be lifted and what are the recommendations by the department?

“The state can’t take further action pending decision by DOSH. I am sure that DOSH will make its findings public.

“We will then take the appropriate action,” Chow told a press conference at his office today.

Chow said matter came under the purview of DOSH because it was a worksite safety incident.

He added that both the Penang Island City Council and the special committee set up by the state to investigate the landslide, had completed their investigations.

“They have presented to the state executive council and the findings are for internal use only,” Chow said.
