No! It is Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng!
The 3,500 superheroes who gathered at the Penang Esplanade were thrilled to see Lim emerge from the iconic telephone booth used by Clark Kent wearing a Superman suit.
Lim was at the Justice League Run at the crack of dawn on Aug 30 to flag off the 8km and 3km runs.
“How are you heroes feeling? I’m sure all of you are charged up and ready to run (not fly) in your superhero outfits today. I’m also equally thrilled to join you in the mood of celebrating Merdeka. Let’s run with high and free spirit! The Penang state is pleased to encourage freedom to express through these kinds of events. The event also hopes to remind all of us about being righteous and benevolent to those in need,” Lim said to an enthusiastic crowd raring to go.
The run was brought to Asia in celebration of DC’s 80th anniversary with Penang the first in the country to host it.
And they were all there – Batman, Superman, Wonderwoman, Green Lantern and Flash were racing against each other along Penang Road, Burmah Road and Pangkor Road before heading back to Esplanade.}
