SUSHI King has opened a new kiosk at Renesas Electronics’ Bayan Lepas plant, offering employees greater convenience and more food choices at work.

The kiosk, which was launched on Oct 16, marks a collaboration between Renesas Electronics and Texchem Group, the parent group of Sushi King.

Renesas Electronics vice-president Ooi Heng Ee said the initiative aimed to improve employees’ daily working experience by providing convenient access to quality food.

“Our workplace is not only about technology, productivity and business performance. It is also about creating an environment where our employees can enjoy a better working experience,” he said.

Ooi added that the initiative reflected Renesas’ philosophy of “To Make Our Lives Easier” by allowing employees to enjoy their favourite food without leaving the premises.

Meanwhile, Texchem president and group chief executive officer Datuk Dr Yuma Konishi said Sushi King had been part of Malaysia’s dining culture for 31 years, with 129 outlets and kiosks nationwide and overseas.

He said the brand, which holds halal certification, offered more than 200 menu items, including sushi, bento sets, donburi, noodles, snacks and desserts.

Konishi also thanked Renesas for the opportunity to collaborate, noting that the new kiosk was developed in less than two months, from strategic planning to implementation.

He expressed hope that the partnership would provide Renesas employees with quality food and service while opening new opportunities for both organisations.
