TALENTCORP Malaysia hopes to set up a Malaysia Expatriate Talent Service Centre (MYXpats Centre) in Penang to facilitate expatriates who want to work in the state.

Its deputy chief executive officer Sivakumeren A. Narayanan shared this when he and his team paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow today.

“We are hoping to set up a MyXpats Centre here on the island. We have several expatriates who came to Kuala Lumpur to seek our assistance.

“They have suggested to us to set up a centre on Penang island. It would be more convenient for them if we have a centre here.

“We will be able to assist them better on their application for employment passes,” he said.

Sivakumeren said TalentCorp Malaysia wanted the process to be fast, smooth and effective.

MYXpats Centre is a joint effort between Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp Malaysia) and the Immigration Department of Malaysia and is overseen by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Sivakumeren also touched on the career comeback programme for women who went on career break.

“We are pushing our career comeback programme that will help to re-skill women to encourage them to come back to work in full form.

“We aspire to work with the state government to help realise the Penang2030 vision – A Family-focused Green and Smart State that Inspires the Nation,” Sivakumeren added.

Chow thanked TalentCorp Malaysia for the efforts taken to attract, nurture and retain local and international talents.

“Matching the right talent with the right task is important when we look at employment,” Chow said.
