The final push: Market-goers swarm Chow and his team ahead of Election Day

HUGS, wefies, autographs…

 

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, who is also contesting the Batu Kawan parliamentary seat, was swarmed by market-goers when he arrived at the Kampung Valdor market complex this morning.

 

Excited with his arrival, many requested hugs, wefies and even autographs from Chow.

Bukit Tambun assemblyman Goh Choon Aik, who was also present, was equally celebrated during the walkabout.

 

Several supporters were seen wearing the Pakatan Harapan T-shirts and they requested autographs from Chow. He obliged and proceeded to pen his signature on their sleeves.

 

The groups showed their sleeves and happily posed for photos with Chow.

“Tomorrow (Nov 19) is the day! Malaysia needs your help to attain a brighter future.

 

“Tell your family and friends to vote. We strive to have a better Federal Government for our people and our beloved Malaysia,” Chow, who is the Penang Pakatan Harapan chairman, said.

 

He also visited coffee shops and shop lots at Taman Merak Jaya and Taman Merak in Bukit Tambun; the wet market at Tambun Indah; and the Sin Soo Lee Chai Kuey restaurant in Sungai Jawi.

He distributed bags of election paraphernalia to the stall owners and patrons there.

 

Chow and Goh also spent some time beating the heat by drinking barley water at a coffee shop in Taman Merak.

 

Cheekily, they chose to sit at table number two.

According to the candidacy arrangement in the ballot paper for P046 Batu Kawan, Chow Kon Yeow (Harapan) is set at ‘Number Two’.

 

Batu Kawan will see a five-cornered fight as Chow, a four-term Tanjong MP, faces Lee Ah Leong (Parti Rakyat Malaysia), Tan Lee Huat (Barisan Nasional), Wong Chia Zhen (Perikatan Nasional) and Ong Chin Wen (Warisan).
