Thousands of riders enjoy PDRM fun ride

A TOTAL of 3,623 participants nationwide took part in the fourth edition of the Penang Second Bridge Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) 2022 Solidarity Fun Ride here in Bayan Lepas.

Flagged off at 10.50pm yesterday by Penang Governor Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak and Chief Minister Chow Yeow with the presence of other dignitaries near Queensbay Mall, the riders were all excited to start the fun ride.

Some of them came with their family members and friends to enjoy the 73km ride and scenic view of Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge.

Several roads leading to Queensbay Mall were closed in stages until 6am to ensure the safety of the cyclists.

The participants would ride to Batu Maung before entering Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge and making a route back to the finishing line near Queensbay Mall.

The event was organised by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).

The Governor also led a group of cyclists who took part in the 52km ride.

The participants also enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display.

Among the dignitaries present were Penang police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, state Tourism and Creative Economy Committee Yeoh Soon Hin, and Hunza Properties Bhd Group founder Datuk Seri Khor Teng Tong.
