TOURIST attractions in Penang are ready to welcome international visitors to the state, says Association of Tourism Attractions Penang (ATAP) chairman Ch’ng Huck Theng.

“It is important for all tourist attractions to comply with the Covid-19 prevention standard operating procedures (SOPs), in view of the current Covid-19 situation.

“Nevertheless, the future of tourism in Penang looks good,” he said in an interview today.

Commenting on the reopening of the country’s international borders to international tourists, Ch’ng said Penang would have no problem attracting international travellers as it is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.

“Penang, as we know, has received numerous accolades over the years.

“The people of Penang are friendly, the state is beautiful, and the visitors can enjoy a nice and comfortable holiday in Penang,” he said.

Ch’ng said the Government should announce the date of the reopening of the country’s international borders.

ATAP has about 60 active members in the association.

Ch’ng said Penang has so much to offer.

“This vibrant state is a great place to visit, stay, invest, and study. It is also known for its medical tourism,” he added.
