THE upcoming Madani Pre-University Congress Penang 2026, which will take place at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Nibong Tebal campus from May 22 to 24, will serve as an important platform to shape leadership among Form Six students in the state, says Penang Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi.
He said the high-impact programme would provide pre-university students with an avenue to voice their views, aspirations and critical perspectives on current education direction, while also strengthening their leadership capabilities.
“Through this platform, pre-university students are able to broaden their horizons, strengthen their networks and empower their leadership skills.
“Through discussions, debates and idea-sharing sessions, I believe participants will not only gain new knowledge, but also be shaped into future leaders who are more mature, critical and innovative,” he said at a press conference held in conjunction with the programme at State Legislative Assembly today.
The congress is organised by the Penang Anak Pulau Pinang Unity Association in collaboration with the Penang Bumiputera Development Council (MPBPP) and the Implementation Coordination Unit, Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM).
It also receives strong support from various strategic partners, including Gooi’s office, the Malaysian National Civics Bureau (Penang branch), Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC), Penang State Youth Council, and the Nibong Tebal Community Service Centre.
Gooi pointed out the collaboration reflects the state government’s aspiration to produce a high-quality, competitive younger generation capable of competing at the global level.
He also congratulated all Form Six student delegates who will be participating in the congress.
“Make full use of this opportunity to share your views, build confidence, and expand your experience and knowledge,” he said.
He also expressed appreciation to all organising committee members and secretariat teams for their efforts in ensuring the success of the programme.
Penang Pre-University Congress director Muhammad Irfan Nazri mentioned participants would take part in cluster sessions, motion presentations and intellectual discourse sessions aimed at encouraging an open, progressive and constructive discussions on matters concerning pre-university education.
He also expressed appreciation to Gooi for supporting efforts to empower the pre-university community in the state.
“The congress aims to provide a dedicated platform for students to exchange views and ideas while strengthening engagement among the state’s pre-university student community,” he said.
